Of course, this is just some freeware that you can download. The only change is that the Linkage page and the Linkage Download page all download version 3, not the old version 2. There is no way to get Linkage 2 anymore.
No one reported any bug in version 3, so it is seems good enough to use. I have still not had a chance to make more interesting geared mechanisms, but that will come with time.
I am also still working on a Linkage mechanism page to show GIF animation of mechanisms as well as have links to their .linkage2 files. I hope to get that working soon, but getting good GIF animations is harder than I thought.
Hey David, I’m using Win10(x64), but I cannot install Linkage3, not by the MSI (says the installation package could not be opened), neither from the ZIP (says file is corrupt). Have any ideas as to why this might be?
I am also using Windows 10 x64 on an HP laptop and I can install the program fine. The file itself must be fine or I would not be able to download it and use it. It seems like the problem must be on your end.
I found a few posts online where people reported a problem like this when using Google Chrome. It was with some other software, not mine, and they were able to download and install it using some other browser. Try using a different browser.
hi-
any chance on a .zip version?
thanks
