I made another improvements to the Linkage video code. It now gives 1080p HD video in the High Quality mode. It also generates the HD video using the full video area regardless of the size of the window on screen.
Better Quality Video
If the video doesn’t look all that good, make it full screen and ask for 1080p to see the best possible quality.
At the time of this writing, I added the &vq=large option to the URL for the embedded YouTube player to get 480p quality. This seems to be the best looking video for this size embedded player. The vq option also supports “hd720” and “hd1080” for higher quality as well as some lower quality settings that are not so useful.
Hi there,
Have downloaded the installer for Linkage but it keeps coming up with an error. ‘A DLL for this install package to complete could not be run.’
The event windows event viewer contains a couple of entries. Pasted below.
Any ideas am I missing some run time libraries or something ?
All the best
Jim

I am not sure what is causing this. What version of Windows are you running?
SO far, I have found this:
“For most windows operating systems go to the %system%\system32\ directory and remove the READ-ONLY attribute for mfc42.dll, mfc42u.dll and msvcrt.dll files”
Also, this:
http://www.extensis.com/support/knowledge-base/error-1723-there-is-a-problem-with-this-windows-installer-package-a-dll-required-for-this-install-to-complete-could-not-be-run/
If you are using XP then you might need service pack 2 or 3. I wrote this and tested it with Windows 7 and only recently had it working on Windows XP for some users.
Dave
I have created a zip file that contains the linkage2.exe executable file. This should run fine without using the installer. The zip file is located at http://www.rectorsquid.com/linkage2_executable.zip
I hope this works for you.
